Dry Fly fishing has always been regarded as the supreme art in fly fishing circles, particularly so on rivers & streams where matching the hatch & presentation of the fly are both vital if a fish is to be tempted. Dry Flies also play a very important part in reservoir & lake fishing aswell where fish are attracted by insects on the surface. The dry fly is designed in such a way that it floats on the surface of the water imitating a massive range of land-borne & aquatic insects. Dries are normally used between March & September when the water is warm and it is within this period that fish frequent the surface taking a wide variety of flies.
